    <idPurp>Kartet kan brukes til å få en oversikt over karbonrike areal og hvor mye klimagasser arealene tok opp og slapp ut, avhengig av bruk.

I innledende vurderinger av reguleringsplaner kan kartet indikere eksisterende nedbyggingsgrad i planområdet og eventuelle behov for bevaring og restaurering av naturlig vegetasjonsdekke.

Temakartet kan ikke erstatte det offentlige kart-grunnlaget i plan- og byggesaksbehandling. </idPurp>
    <idAbs>&lt;DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Temakartet «Karbonrikt areal 2020» viser karbon-rikt areal kartlagt i offentlige kartdata ved utgangen av år 2020.  Kartet gir også opplysninger om hvor mye klimagasser som arealene tar opp og slapp ut over en periode på 20 år.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Kartet er sammensatt av en rekke datakilder og brukes i beregninger av kommunevise utslipp og opptak av klimagasser fra arealbrukssektoren i årene 2010, 2015 og 2020.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;De karbonrike arealene er delt inn i 6 klasser. Utslippseffekten er oppgitt for arealfiguren som helhet. Skog tar opp store mengder klimagasser. Drenert myr og jordbruk på organisk jord gir utslipp.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;</idAbs>

      <statement>Kartet er sammensatt og fremstilt gjennom en tematisk og geometrisk generalisering av en rekke datakilder i Det Offentlige Kartgrunnlaget, slik som FKB, AR5, AR50, SR16, N50, FKB og SSB Arealbruk. 

Beregningen av utslipp og opptak av klimagasser er gjennomført i tråd med metodikken som ligger til grunn for beregninger i det kommunevise klimagass-regnskapet for arealbrukssektoren.  For å beregne utslipps- og opptakseffekter har vi benyttet oss av variabler som treslag, skogbonitet, grunnforhold, grad av nedbygging og klimasone. Utslipps- og opptakseffekten er oppgitt for en periode på 20 år i tråd med anbefalinger fra FNs klimapanel. 

Opptakseffekten i skog og torvmark er beregnet ut fra skogens kartlagte treslag og mulige bonitet på lokaliteten. Dette bør forstås som arealets evne til å produsere trevirke som man kan forvente med rett treslag, normal tetthet og vanlig god skogskjøtsel. 

Utslipps og opptakseffekter er beregnet i tonn CO2-ekvivalenter. Effektene er oppgitt for figuren og ikke som effekt per hektar.</statement>
